Last Indoor Market This week, 5/18, is our last indoor market for the 2023-2024 indoor season. We move outdoors next week 5/25 to our outdoor market site - Center School parking lot on Woodruff Lane. We will be there weekly through mid-October.
Here are some things of note for the market this week. - Ideal Fish, Lynette's Precocious Preserves and Mockingbird Kitchen and Bar will not be at market this week. - March Farms and Belle Alpaca are both back with us this week. - Jessica's Homestead Kitchen will be at market and plans to participate with us outdoors. - Fifth State Distillery will be not be with us and will not participate outdoors since we are on school property. - Pebbles Bakery may or may not be at market and depending on if they can work out staffing. - Guest vendor - Stella Rose Farm - dahlia tubers - Guest vendor - Horticulture Therapy Farms - potted organic grasses - pet grass, wheat, oat, barley, rye - Guest nonprofit - Oliver Wolcott Library For the complete list of vendors, see the participation list below. Lemony Lentil and Greens Soup is our recipe this week. The fresh collard and kale is so tasty, we searched for a different way to enjoy them and came up with this. Hearty enough for a light dinner - or add sausage or chicken and call it dinner. Hope you enjoy it. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, 5/18 at our last indoor market. SUSTAINABLE TIP OF THE WEEK COMPOSTING Trashed food ends up in a landfill, where it rots and emits methane — a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes more to global warming than CO2. Toss your leftovers in a compost bin instead. Then either add to your own pile, or take to the transfer station and add it to theirs. An easy ting to do to make a difference. |
